1. Cervical mucus after ovulation
After your period is before your period. That's why cervical mucus is often very watery and clear after ovulation and the amount should not be underestimated. Panty liners are therefore a welcome guest for many during this time. But be careful: it is not recommended to wear panty liners for longer than 3-5 hours, as the air build-up and the resulting moisture quickly create an environment for bacteria in your panties.
2. Why the discharge is flowing right now
If your cervical mucus is stretchy, you are probably in your fertile phase. If you don't want to risk pregnancy right now... you should use reliable contraception RIGHT NOW (not to mention that condoms can also protect you from sexually transmitted diseases).
Tip: You can use the "two-finger test" to find out whether your cervical mucus can be stretched. If you can pull the mucus between two fingers, it has the stretchable consistency mentioned. YAY! The liquid substance makes it easier for a male sperm to find its way to your egg. Don't feel like getting pregnant? Then we recommend safe sex ONLY with a condom. And on all other days too, unless you have found Mr. Right.
3. Cervical mucus as a sign of pregnancy
Speaking of pregnancy. Can cervical mucus be a sign of pregnancy? While your discharge before your period tends to be thick and viscous, your cervical mucus can actually increase during pregnancy.
If you are in early pregnancy, the increased discharge can be attributed to an increased estrogen level. This could be a sign of pregnancy. But if you really want to be on the safe side, you should do a pregnancy test...
4. Less discharge before your period
If you have ovulated and are not pregnant, your cervical mucus will decrease before your period. This means that it will be less liquid and not stretchy, but rather creamy, milky and viscous. As already mentioned, if no sperm has fertilized your egg, your body will initially reduce production. Shortly before your period, you may even have almost no discharge.
Is your cervical mucus RUNNING at full speed right now? *hihi* Then we recommend our Daysics® .
