1. Why do I have pimples in my intimate area?

It itches and burns down there? Not only is that quite unpleasant, but similar to pimples on the face, pimples in the intimate area are also very annoying. However, it is absolutely nothing unusual. The reason for this is often excessive sebum production . The glands can become blocked, come into contact with bacteria and, hey presto, skin blemishes become noticeable.

But intimate shaving can also lead to unsightly razor burn and thus to red pustules and small pimples. Even ingrown hairs can become infected and be a painful consequence of hygiene down there. Our safety razor ensures a gentle shave and prevents razor bumps.

However, if pimples appear in your intimate area after (unprotected) sex , there is a possibility that it could be a sexually transmitted disease. But of course that doesn't have to be the case! If you suspect something (especially because the pustules are yellow), a visit to the gynecologist is essential. Pimples in the intimate area can, in rare cases, be a sign of syphilis, genital herpes and yeast infections.
Whether you have pimples in your intimate area or not – your pussy is simply a sensitive thing and should definitely be wrapped in cotton wool.

Not just for your panties, but especially for your period products! But please choose the good version made of 100% organic cotton, without chemicals and without plastic. 2. Blood-filled pimples

A pimple in the intimate area that is filled with blood should definitely be observed . Of course, in such a case it could just be a harmless inflammation that goes away on its own. But it could also be a sign of a boil.

These giant pimples are extremely painful and can even lead to blood poisoning. The red, purulent nodules are one to two centimeters in size and are caused when bacteria inflame a hair follicle and the surrounding skin. The rule here is: keep your hands off and go see a doctor!

3. White pimples

Yep. White pimples in the intimate area are usually completely harmless. These are often so-called sebaceous nodules. These are - as the name suggests - white pimples filled with sebum. Surprise! Surprise!

4. Which home remedies help?

You should only use home remedies in the intimate area if the pimple is not directly on your vagina. Otherwise, keep your hands off! Your doctor can help you with this. If skin impurities have made themselves comfortable on your labia, please do not squeeze them yourself. Even if it is difficult - we know.
Instead, use home remedies that have both disinfectant and anti-inflammatory effects :

  • The classic: baby powder . This is especially useful for preventing skin irritation after shaving. Zinc cream is also ideal for pimples in the intimate area - it has a disinfecting effect and basically "squeezes" the pimple out.
  • Aloe vera, on the other hand, is very gentle on the skin and relieves unpleasant itching with its cooling effect.
  • You should be veeeeery careful with tea tree oil . Although it can dry out the pimple, you should still apply it precisely with a Q-tip (otherwise it will hurt like hell).
  • Warm water and a mild washing lotion prevent skin irritation caused by aggressive shower gel.
  • Please change your towels regularly! This will prevent bacteria from getting into your intimate area in the first place. If you have sensitive skin, you should generally avoid underwear made of synthetic materials - your cervix cannot breathe properly, which promotes sweating and therefore pimples. Better: underwear made of breathable cotton .
