First of all: We ware all different and when it comes to our period it's difficult to generalize. The wearing time of period underwear highly depends on your menstruation. Just like with tampons or pads, it's individual how long your period panty lasts.

Can I wear period underwear for the whole day?
At The Female Company you can find period underwear with different absorbencies that can absorb up to ca. 6 regular tampons. Depending on the absorbency level and the amount of liquid, you can wear your period underwear until it's full – but you should change it after a maximum of 10 hours.

You'll notice this relatively quickly: You should change your period panty as soon as it feels damp at the edges. Pro tip, if you're unsure: press a piece of toilet paper against the absorbent layer and check if any liquid is transferred or if it stays clean.

The Period Panty Extra Strong is our most absorbent menstrual underwear and stays leak-proof even on heavy flow days. It can absorb the liquid equivalent of up to 6 tampons and is made from soft organic cotton. This ensures a comfortable and pleasantly dry wearing sensation even on heavy flow days.

You can easily wash and reuse your period underwear:

• Rinse in cold water
• toss it with similarly colored clothes into the washing machine at 40 degrees.
• After washing let the Period Panty air dry.

Extra tipps:
❤️ Period panties love delicate fabric detergent and special treatment in a laundry bag.
❌ Please make sure not to use aggressive detergent, so stay away from heavy-duty detergents. What they also don't like: dryer, bleach, and fabric softener.

Don't panic: If you end up in the water with the period panty at the next pool party, the membrane won't be damaged. However, the period panty is not a replacement for bikini bottoms because the blood in the water would eventually wash out of the absorbent layer, just like in your washing machine.
